Adriana Degreas
For fifteen years, Gabriel Weil has worked alongside Adriana Degreas on a house that dresses a woman from the first swim of the morning to the last toast of the night.
Adriana Degreas learnt her craft working alongside her father-in-law in his swimwear factory before founding her own label in São Paulo in 2001, and has spent the years since proving that beachwear deserves the seriousness usually reserved for couture. Her swimsuits are cut with the precision of eveningwear, her gowns and kaftans carry the ease of the coast, and her colour, unmistakably Brazilian yet entirely her own, moves between the two without ever lowering its voice. In doing so she carved out a niche of her own within her category, built on a collection and a set of codes that travel from the beach to black tie and that speak to women who see no reason to become someone else when the sun goes down.
Gabriel's collaboration with the house spans fifteen years of creative and brand projects, sustained by a shared conviction that a signature this distinctive deserves to be guarded as carefully as it is amplified. For the past four years that collaboration has taken the form of film. Gabriel writes and produces each one with Adriana, Enrico Beer Boimond directs, and every season arrives as a story rather than a lookbook, set in places that share the brand's temperament, from the coast of Sardinia and a Corfiot summer to the English seaside at Margate.
